His 29th column with the title "Die Roycrofts aus Australien" was published in the edition 23 on 16.06.2011.
Ende Mai starb Bill Roycroft, er war 96 Jahre alt. Bill Roycroft, der als 45-Jähriger erstmals bei Olympischen Spielen ritt und gleich Mannschaftsgold gewann und der 26 Jahre später, als 61-Jähriger, bei seinen fünften Spielen nochmals auf dem Treppchen stand. Ebenso eindrucksvoll wie seine sportlichen Erfolge sind Bill Roycrofts Leistungen als Vererber. Denn alle drei Söhne wurden Olympiareiter (Barry, Wayne und Clarke). Einer der drei, Wayne, heiratete eine junge Dame, Vicki, die ebenfalls bei Olympia ritt.
