Max E. Ammann writes a personal column for the Swiss weekly magazine PferdeWoche on the actualities in the national and international equestrian sport.
His 63rd column with the title "Pferdesport in Osteuropa" was published in the edition 42 on 24.10.2012.
Kürzlich kam die Frage auf: Warum dauerte es bis 1989, bis endlich Osteuropa in den Springreiter-Weltcup integriert wurde. Mit dem Fall der Mauer und dem Verschwinden des kommunistischen Machtsystems hatte es nur indirekt zu tun. Indirekt insofern, als es in den Achtzigerjahren im kommunistischen Osten, nicht zuletzt als Folge wirtschaftlicher Schwierigkeiten, immer mehr bröckelte.
